About

The tutorials should aim to achieve one or more of the following objectives: 

  1. Introducing beginners to significant research topics in geoscience and remote sensing (GRS), 
  2. Providing guidance on established practices and methodologies, 
  3. Surveying mature areas of GRS research or practice, 
  4. Motivating and explaining emerging geoscience and remote sensing topics, 
  5. Introducing expert non-specialists to areas in GRS, 
  6. Surveying agent research areas of particular relevance to industry professionals, 
  7. Presenting novel syntheses of different work lines in GRS, and 
  8. Introducing external topics that can be motivating or useful to research in GRS. 

One Tutorial session will be half-day long (3 Hours). All topics listed in the call for technical track are welcome. Tutorials must include some hands-on practicals.

Proposal Format

A tutorial proposal for InGARSS 2023 should be 3 to 4 pages long, following the single column format, 12 pt Times New Roman or 11 pt Arial font. The proposal should concisely describe the content of the tutorial, and include following necessary contents:

  1. A short descriptive title
  2. Learning objectives
  3. A brief description of the tutorial, suitable for inclusion in the conference registration brochure. 
  4. Abstract (300 words)
  5. Target audience and prerequisites for the tutorial (e.g. audience expertise)
  6. List of material to be distributed
  7. A brief resume of the presenter(s), which should include name, postal address, phone numbers, email address, background in the tutorial area, any available example of work in the area. Information about previous tutorials delivered by the presenters (if any) (up to 200 words per tutor)
  8. The name and e-mail address of the corresponding presenter. The corresponding presenter should be available for e-mail correspondence during the evaluation process, in the case clarifications and discussions on the scope and content of the proposal are needed.

The summaries of accepted tutorials will be published in the Conference proceedings by IEEE and also appear in the IEEEXplore. The rights retained by authors who transfer copyright to IEEE can be found here
